"Our family is a circle
of strength & love...
with every birth & every union
the circle grows...
every joy shared adds more love...
every crises faced together
makes the circle grow stronger."
Recently, Mom remarked that Dad has used enough of his "nine lives"! In my last blog-post I indicated some of the crises he's been through, including war, serious accidents, brain tumor, and now heart attack followed by triple bypass heart surgery. My mom has been at his side through these trials, & it has strengthened their love for one another as well as our family circle. Difficult times, as painful as they can be, make us stronger and bind us tighter together.
I've heard both of my parents saying this month,"you just never know..."
Referring to the fact that we never know what tomorrow may bring. They have learned through unexpected crises
to enjoy life's simple pleasures,
cherish family and friends,
be generous,
pray fervently, believe in Miracles,
radiate love,
and to live each day fully!
We do our best in our home to live each day
to it's busiest...oops, I mean, fullest! As crazy-busy as it is with five school-aged kids, we honestly do our best to savor and enjoy this special time of life. This time next year, I'll be seeing my oldest son off to college! Till then, we take each month, each day as it comes. A quick snapshot of this coming year portrays lots of football, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, track, school activities/functions, college visits, and kindergarten fun days! The joy a family shares woven throughout such busy days only adds more love to their lives.
Today we savored a "no training wheels" kind of day! My five year old son conquered fears, and even got back on his bike after a tough, tear-inducing fall! The smiles, pride, and joy he radiated after this accompishment made everyone he came into contact with to smile, feel proud of him, and to be downright joyful! May we face our fears with such bravery...amidst unexpected crises may we grow stronger...may we rise after falling to give it our very best again...may we radiate our faith, joy and love to everyone around us! Truly, we don't know what tomorrow really may bring... live today to it's fullest... hug your kids...
call your parents... send a friend a thinking-of-you card...forgive someone...hug your kids... be encouraging... offer a kind deed as a prayer for someone in need... hug your kids ...be.radiant!
